Book Reviews

I've never felt confident in writing book reviews, but I'm going to give it a try. I hope the reviews are helpful =) because I love sharing great books with others.

An Amish Family Christmas

There is something so calming about reading Amish romances. If I had to describe it, I would say it is like drinking iced chamomile and lavender tea accompanied by a lemon and blueberry scone on a hot summer day.

I can't say how happy I was to read this book which included one novelette, and two novellas all of which had Christmas as a background. It was a relatively quick read and each story took me less than a day to read. When I finished it I was sad to realize that it was over.

I loved the three stories and each one had a distinct feel to it.

Heart of Christmas- Susannah was strong and I liked that she forgave Toby. Toby wasn't my favorite since he sort felt sorry but didn't take enough action for my liking. But together they made a good couple.

A Plain Holiday- I absolutely loved how cute Sally and Ben are as a couple. I thought it was funny that they obviously belonged together but were stubborn to see it. I'm glad that they figured it out at the end.

Amish Triplets for Christmas- I enjoyed the development between Hannah and Sawyer. And of all the love interest in this book, I liked Sawyer the best. He really cared about Hannah, even if he was slow to admit it. Another thing that pleased me was how real Hannah was. In a lot of Amish stories, the female lead is always so good and thinks only good things, but Hannah felt jealous and envious which gave her more depth and made me like her even more.

If I did have to choose a favorite then I would pick Amish Triplets for Christmas. It had great supporting characters like Desperate Doris.

I highly recommend reading this on a hot summer day or during Christmas time.

The Wish (The Amish of Cedar Grove, #1)

The Wish by Patricia Davids

I really enjoyed reading/ devouring (yup, in one day) novel. The story was touching. I enjoyed the chemistry between Joshua and Laura. But for me, the biggest draw was Laura, the main character.

She is by far one of my favorite characters ever. I love that she is trusting and so giving. It was good to see someone so kind and open in a romance novel.

The message that love heals and brings growth is also beautiful.

I'm so happy I found Patricia Davids. I plan to read more of her books.
